Faculty-Led Programs

Embark On a Global Educational Journey

Faculty-led programs provide an opportunity for the classroom to go global. Courses are embedded into the experience abroad for a hands-on learning opportunity. More recent trips include faculty-led travel to China and Costa Rica. Take advantage of this unique experience and travel during the spring or summer break. Previous trips included China, Cuba, France, Spain, Venezuela and Costa Rica.

Costa Rica

BENEDICTINE UNIVERSITY’S STUDY ABROAD AND SERVICE-LEARNING PROGRAM IN COSTA RICA:

This program is designed for students interested in improving their Spanish while participating in a series of service-learning and cultural activities in Costa Rica during the second half of May 2024 (duration: 10 days; exact departure date TBD).

Discovering Europe: Focus on the Holocaust

This year, we will be going to Berlin (Germany), Warsaw, and Krakow (Poland),  and Prague (Czech Republic).

Dates of travel are: May 11-20, 2024. The cost of the program is $2,999 (airfare not included).

Paris

In Paris, we will wander the Jardin des Tuileries, take a walking tour of Montmartre, visit Musee l’Orangerie (the home of Monet’s most majestic paintings), take a private tour of the Musee du Louvre (where we will search for Black images in the most unlikely places), light candles at Notre Dame, have ice cream on Ille St. Louis, picnic beneath the Eiffel Tower, and have dinner while cruising along the river Seine.

BenU Spring Break 2024. The Paris Program cost is approximately $5,000, which covers airfare, accommodations, most meals and tours. We’ll talk about available forms of funding.

Spain

In Spring 2024, we’ll explore Spain’s most iconic foods and agricultural sites and visit the cultural sights as well. Our base will be in Madrid, then in Valencia over the 9 days and nights, with day trips to Toledo and Cordoba.
